Moving on

Hello, everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday and a very happy new year!

Here we are in 2011. And 2010 was a quite a year! At least for me. In 2010 I:
  • Got a new job and escaped from a job that was holding me back
  • Got engage and got married (we just did the latter a few days ago on December 30)
  • Bought a new house (okay, settlement is Friday, but everything was ready to go in 2010)

Overall, I feel pretty accomplished. I'm getting ready to go into my last year and a half of grad school, which is all thesis project, all the time. I'm pretty excited and I'm even more excited that I've been putting my grad school education to use (along with my experience) at my new job.

But as you know, I took some time away from this blog to focus on some other things (mostly the above mentioned situations). But just because I wasn't blogging, doesn't mean I was thinking. I did a lot of thinking about what exactly I want out of a blog and what I want to be blogging about. And I came to the decision to move all of the different blogs I write into one blog. It's called Displaced Urbanite and it's been my personal blog for a few years, but I never really promoted it or gathered much of a following (I'm hoping to change that this year). You can read more about my decision in this recent post called Perfectly Imperfect over on Displaced Urbanite.

So, what does that mean for The Blooming Wildflowers Project? Well, it means that I won't be blogging about indie and handmade on this blog anymore. I'm not going to delete it or anything, so you'll still have all of my previous posts to reference here, but going forward, I'm going to create a section on my new (old?) blog for The Blooming Wildflowers Project where I post the same type of content I posted here. It will just be part of other content, like things that inspire me, wishlists, fashion and outfits of the day and pretty much anything else I feel like posting about. So The Blooming Wildflowers Project isn't going away; it's just moving on and changing a little bit. Change is good right? If we never change we never grow, and I'm ready to do both!

It's not an easy decision for me to move this blog content to another blog, especially since I have built a pretty loyal following, but I hope many of you will follow me over there. In 2011, I hope to make more (and better) connections with the blogging world (that's you!) and to make Displaced Urbanite a great place to find inspiration and new indie artists, as well as a place to just kick back and laugh.

Join me, won't you?

PS- You might also want to check out Stylethread. It's a fashion message board I frequent and the ladies there are so nice. I've "known" many of them from the online community for nearly a decade. Stop over and make some new friends!

A hiatus update

I'm still on haitus for this blog while I rework some things here and work on (and hopefully launch) a few new projects, too. But I'm still blogging somewhat regularly over at Moxie/Grace, my blog about fashion, style and inspiration. It's not all indie (or shopping), all the time over there, but it's still fun and (maybe) inspiring. Check it out!

A brief update:: on hiatus

on-hiatus

I know I've been MIA from the blog scene recently, and it's becoming apparent that I'll be away for a bit longer. So, I'm putting up an official "on hiatus" notice. I promise I'll be back soon(ish), but for now there is just so much going on right now that I need to step back and breathe.

On a happy note, D and I got engaged last week (right after my birthday)- YAY. You can see the proposal story and pictures of the ring here. On a sad note, my precious little Stella Bear (our lab) needs to have surgery for a torn ACL- boo. She's having it tomorrow and she'll need some extra attention and spoilery while she recovers. Add that to the onslaught of birthdays, work, weekends at the beach, and life stuff in general and you can probably see where things got a little crazy.

So, I hope you'll understand my need to recharge, regroup and get energized for new blog posts. I'll be back soon. Take care, everyone!
